Your Parish Council

Kents Hill and Monkston Parish Council, representing the first tier of local government, serves the residential areas of Kents Hill, Monkston, Monkston Park and the industrial and shopping areas of Brinklow and Kingston. The council, together with the Clerk, provides, manages and deals with local services and issues of concern to/from residents. The Parish Councillors are elected by residents to represent them in specific geographical areas.

Announcement May 8th 2024

Sadly we have to announce that, following a number of further resignations of Parish Councillors, and the Clerk, the Parish Council is now inquorate and with no administrative staff.

That means that it is unable to make any decisions until the City Council has arranged for sufficient extra councillors to make it quorate again.

The list of councillors remaining is on the Councillors page.  Please contact one of them if you have any issues to do with the Parish Council.

Please contact the other authorities or your representatives on them with issues to do with them.

The Council
Details of Councillors can be found on our website under Your Councillors and on our parish noticeboards. They meet on a monthly basis with the exception of August. However, sometimes extra meetings are convened for special reasons.

We have 11 Councillor positions representing our ward as follows:
5 for Monkston and Kingston
4 for Kents Hill and Brinklow
2 for Monkston Park.

However, we now have vacancies for 8  Councillors. The time for calling an election has now expired so the Parish Council is now intending to co-opt councillors.  Vacancies can arise at any time, so if you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor, please get in touch with the one of the remaining Parish Councillors shown on the Councillors page for more information.
